Let be clear up front – I’m a horrible writer. In fact, I’m such a bad writer that in 4th grade I almost failed a proficiency test because I couldn’t stay on topic. The only thing that saved me was my math and science scores. Jokes on them – I’m in marketing now. If you look at this document as I write it, you’d see all the red lines of where I’ve “failed” to spell a word correctly. Come on – this is the guy who used to cheat on spelling tests. So, I apologize in advance for my lack of written talent. I’m much better behind the camera than in a word document. But alas, here we are.

It’s 2019 and Brian Black & White Photography has taken off. 2018 was a breakout year for me with newborn and family photography. This year I’m working hard to bring on more Senior photo opportunities. I’ve promised my wife, LB, that I wouldn’t give up (too much) family time, especially as our son Easton grows. But my passion for photography and design is prevailing. Aside from everyone’s New Year’s resolutions to lose weight – mine is also to blog more.

I’ve struggled what to call this. For now, it’s just going to be called “Black & White.” One of my biggest goals for 2019 is to be completely transparent with my clients and my audience that what you see is what you get. The days of completely air brushed photos are out and natural, authentic photography is back. And because of that – it’s pretty Black & White.

I hope that I can publish a blog once a week. At least that’s my plan. This blog will encompass everything from work I’m doing, what I’m editing, maybe the occasional video. Currently I’m getting my Senior Model Crew together, calling parents, and getting all my marketing material together. In an upcoming blog I’m going to touch on branding (a personal favorite of mine) and possibly a watch me work series. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

With that – it’s 2019. I’m ready to make this a great year and I can’t do any of this without the support of my family, my friends, and God. So to everyone, let’s kick 2019’s butt and make it a good one. If you don’t follow me on social media – please do. @brianblackandwhite on Instagram and Facebook. Oh – and check back often! You never know what you’ll find.
